The Gift Of Life
Jesus offers us an abundant life. But that life does not include an abundance of wealth or resources.
Instead, it’s the ability to have a relationship with God and the power to overcome the thief that wants to prevent us from achieving our purpose.
The Thief Robs Us Of Life
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
The thief loves to rob our lives in three ways. Through stealing, the thief will take away the power and identity we received from God. By killing, the enemy will convince us to commit sins that hinder our connection and relationship with the Lord. Lastly, the enemy will try to destroy our hope in God and turn us away from Him.
Eve and The Serpent
In the Garden of Eden, the serpent convinced Eve that God was lying to them about the Tree of Knowledge. If they ate the fruit, they wouldn’t die but have the same wisdom and power that God possessed. Through one action, the serpent stole their authority over the earth, killed their spiritual connection with the Lord, and destroyed their faith in Him.
Although the enemy will try to ruin our lives, we are not ignorant of his methods. As we continue to follow the ways of the Lord, we will overcome every scheme the enemy tries and experience the life God offers us all.
Jesus Gives Us Life
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
The abundant life Jesus offers is freedom from sin and death. We can find peace in Him to conquer our everyday challenges and have a fulfilling relationship with Him.
Created For Good Works
Paul notes in Ephesians that Jesus created us to complete good works. These works include our God-given purpose and our ability to serve His people on earth. We can receive this gift because of God’s abundant grace and our faith in Him.
Abundant Life Is Ours To Have
We can all receive the abundant life Jesus offers. Although the thief comes to rob us of life, we must not allow his schemes to destroy our hope in God. Instead, we must follow the Lord daily and complete the works He’s given us to accomplish.
